Our Story

Trä Timmerhus has been crafting beautiful timber frame homes for decades. With Swedish, Finnish and European roots, our passion for sustainable building practices and traditional craftsmanship has made us a leader in easy, eco-friendly assembly and construction.

We believe that a home should not only be beautiful and functional but also environmentally responsible. That's why we source our timber from sustainably managed forests and plant several trees with every home we build.

Our team of skilled artisans combines time-honored techniques with modern innovations to create homes that are energy-efficient, durable, and uniquely tailored to our clients' needs.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Building a greener future, one home at a time

One Home, Ten Trees

For every timber frame home we build, we plant ten trees in partnership with reforestation organizations. This commitment helps combat deforestation, restore ecosystems, and offset the carbon footprint of our construction process.

Our sustainable practices extend beyond tree planting. We use energy-efficient manufacturing processes, minimize waste through careful planning, and prioritize locally sourced materials to reduce transportation emissions.

When you choose Trä Timmerhus, you're not just investing in a beautiful home – you're investing in a healthier planet for future generations.

Corner Solutions

Traditional craftsmanship meets modern design

Extended Corner

The traditional log corner with overhang log jointing is an all-time favourite corner solution. This type of corner is also known as an overhang corner or boxed lap notch, and it is, historically, the most commonly used corner solution in Finland.

This method provides excellent weather protection and a classic, rustic appearance that showcases the natural beauty of the timber.

Mitre Corner Joint

The sleek mitre corner joint was developed for urban construction in particular. Also sometimes known as the city corner, this solution means that the corners are built without the extended overhang.

This increases the number of alternatives in areas with more stringent planning restrictions while maintaining structural integrity and a clean, modern aesthetic.

Dovetailed Notch Joint

The overlapping, flush dovetailed corner notch is modern way of highlighting the characteristics of the log, representing a similar modern and elegant design as the mitre corner joint.

Thanks to its sleek design, the dovetailed notch is also popular in partition walls. This joint provides excellent stability while creating a seamless transition between timber elements.
